McLauchlans

I am looking for any information about Peter (my 2 GGrandfather) or Robert (my 3 GGrandfather) McLauchlan who lived in Killin.
Robert was born in the 1780's and died prior to 1854, while Peter was born 1824 and died 1893 and were from Killin.

Both were crofters in the killin area.

The next generation were found in the Paisley area in the 1880's and were part of the cotton mills era.

Rod: I trust that you are aware of the fact that McLauchlan has a variety of spellings here in the U.S. The most common may be McLaughlan. There are others, too, but I don't know how to spell them! One may be McLachlan. Immigration records in the U.S. contain many errors. Oftentimes the individual, e.g.Dave, was simply given a surname by a recorder. That name could have been the father's name, the individual's occupation, the individuals place of birth, etc. This makes things much more complex. Good luck, Meade
